A 30-year-old driver was impaled on a crash barrier and killed after a suspected heat-related illness at the wheel.
Shency Crotti veered into the opposite lane after losing control of her Citroën C3.
She crossed the edge of the road, and the end of the crash barrier went all the way through the front of her car.

The impact was so violent that Shency died instantly, and there was nothing the first responders could do.
Because the horror unfolded on a straight road, investigating police believe she may have suffered a sudden illness.

They suspect it may have been due to the intense heat, as the temperature was 37C (99F) at the time on Sunday (29 Jun) afternoon.
The crash happened right by a cemetery on the outskirts of Robecco d’Oglio, about 60 miles south-east of Milan, Italy, as reported by Need To Know.

Shency lived in nearby Vescovato, where she worked at the bar of her adoptive parents’ trattoria.
She was originally from Thrissur, in south India’s Kerala state.
Shency is also survived by her brother, Jonathan, and by her boyfriend, who lives in Robecco d’Oglio.
One local woman, who chose to remain anonymous, told local media: “I knew her. She was a good girl.”
Luca commented: “They really ought to make it mandatory for crash barriers to be properly embedded into the tarmac where they begin.

“A simple curved end isn’t enough. It might cost more to build them that way, but it would save countless lives.”
