A man who lived with a 23lb tumour in his stomach for eight months has finally had it removed.
The man, who had been living in agony, had the massive gastrointestinal stromal tumor removed by medics.
It had been compressing organs and blood vessels, leaving him unable to walk, with intense stomach pain and a “feeling of heaviness”.
The tumour had also been causing enlargement of the kidney, as reported by Need to Know.

According to hospital officials in Delhi, India, the surgery was fraught with risk due to the tumour’s enormous size and its entanglement with multiple abdominal organs.
Miraculously, the man was discharged in stable condition.
“This kind of surgery demands not just technical precision but unwavering teamwork across specialties,” Dr. Bansal, who carried out the surgery, said. stated.

Medical oncologists are now closely monitoring the patient’s recovery.
They explained that GISTs are rare cancers originating in specific cells of the gastrointestinal tract.
