Unfortunately, half of the group was unable to get out of the cave without help.
The two who had exited the cave quickly called for assistance to get their mates to safety.
The Derbyshire Cave Rescue Organisation attended the scene.
Volunteers arrived at the Eldon Hole, Peak District National Park, Derbyshire.

Two brave workers made their way into the cave with food and water.
The remaining volunteers set up a haul operation at the surface.
Fortunately, the two men were found in “good spirits” by the rescue team.
The Saturday (16 Aug) evening callout ran into the early hours of Sunday morning (17 Aug).
The cavers returned to the surface at 3 am, following a successful rescue operation, as reported by NeedToKnow.
A spokesperson for the Derbyshire Cave Rescue Organisation said: “Yesterday evening, the team were called out to assist a group of four adventurers who had descended the 60 metre deep Eldon Hole earlier in the day.

“Two had managed the climb out, but the other two were unable to climb out without assistance.
“Volunteers from the team attended, with two cavers going underground with equipment, food and drink, and the others setting up for a haul.
“The two trapped men were in good spirits and were hauled smoothly up to the surface.
“Everyone was out of the cave by 3 am.”
