A hero rescue team rushed to save a fox trapped in wire fencing on a riverbank.
The dramatic rescue unfolded when a worried member of the public phoned the Yorkshire Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Hospital after spotting the poor animal struggling to break free.
The charity shared details of the rescue on social media on Sunday (Oct 16), writing: “We recently received a call to our helpline for this injured fox found with one leg inextricably trapped in wire stock fencing, alongside the banks of the River Ouse.

“Given how disturbed the vegetation around the fencing was, we suspect the fox had been there for a number of hours in the animal’s attempt to free himself.”
When rescuers arrived at the scene on the River Ouse, the terrified fox was conscious but exhausted, frightened and in pain.

The team worked quickly but calmly to contain the distressed animal and prevent any further injuries, as reported by Need To Know.
The fox was rushed to the hospital for assessment and treatment, where he was given fluids, rest and care for his injured leg.
Thankfully, despite his ordeal, the brave creature is expected to make a full recovery.
The team also thanked the kind-hearted caller who raised the alarm, saying: “Our thanks to the caller who alerted us to the fox, and for her assistance in this rescue.”

Supporters flooded social media with praise for the rescuers’ compassion and quick thinking.
One wrote: “Great job.”
Another added: “Poor Fox, how terrifying for him, thanks to all helpers for caring.”

And a third gushed: “Wow! Amazing job, well done.”
