A pub is banning the World Cup next summer due to drinkers “awful renditions of Vindaloo” and so customers don’t get “drenched with beer.”
The Thompsons Bell boozer won’t be showing the games and is going to lay on karaoke or quizzes instead.
Other ideas include bottomless brunches and live music.

Bosses of the pub in Walmer, near Dover, Kent want punters to come up with ideas to make it a football-free zone.
It is aimed at female drinkers but anyone who doesn’t like the sport.
A pub spokesperson said: “Now, this is way ahead. but I’m going to need to get things booked in so don’t judge me!

“As you’re probably all aware, next summer sees the return of the World Cup.
“Even as a football fan hearing those words sends my blood colder than a Siberian winter.
“All you want to do is go for drinks with the girls, enjoy good food and embrace the sunshine.
“But all you get is over the top noise, drenched with beer everytime there’s a goal and too many awful renditions of Vindaloo.
“Don’t worry though girls, I’ve got you covered.”
They added: “We’re not showing it
“Instead, we’ll be focusing on the non-football fans, providing a safe, relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy good food, the perfect pour and great company.
“Now this is where you come in.
“What events would you like us to do on the nights there are England games?
“Live music? Karaoke? Quizzes? Bottomless Brunch?
“We want to hear from you! And it’s not just the girls, anyone who has no interest in the World Cup, we’re your place.”
The pub has previously shown football like the UEFA Super Cup between Tottenham and PSG in August, as reported on Need To Know.

It also broadcast the Community Shield where Man City played Crystal Palace three days earlier.
The idea has got a mixed response from locals.
Lis Cornwall said: “Bottomless brunch would be awesome.”

Katie Gardner added: “Karaoke.”
But Polly Wooding said: “I’d love this.
“But the reality is, I’ll be at home with the kids while Ross is out watching the matches.
“Great idea though.”

The Three Lions qualified for the World Cup with a perfect record, winning all eight games without conceding a goal.
They face a tough group at the tournament in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
