A super fit grandma has revealed that she’s popped the question to herself after vowing to give up on men ‘for good’.
Andréa Sunshine, as she’s known online, is no stranger to being someone who loves to kiss and tell.
The 56-year-old had previously shared her love affair with an AI bot, before hooking up with toyboy Federico, 35, for a while.
But that quickly came to an end – and Andréa vowed to “never touch a man ever again”.
So much so, that she’s now popped the question to herself; with a 2.5-carat oval ring worth a cool £12,000.
“I refused to enter into another month waiting for a man to choose, validate or complete me,” the fitness coach told Need To Know.

“Why should I wait for someone else to give me the love I already deserve?
“When I saw the ring, I felt like it was calling me.
“In that moment, I decided I would never again depend on someone else to feel worthy or loved.
“And proposing to myself was my way of taking back my power and declaring that I am enough, on my own.”
Andréa, who called the decision “liberating”, said her hands were shaking when placing the ring on herself.
She said: “It’s a commitment ring; a promise to respect my body, my desires and my emotional boundaries before sharing them with anyone else.

“For me, I wasn’t just buying another piece of jewelry.
“Some people think it’s extravagant, but it represents something priceless.
“After everything I’ve lived and overcome, I deserve that reminder everyday.”
The gran, who splits her time between Brazil and Rome, proposed to herself, alone, in a peaceful setting.
Her speech included lines about never abandoning herself and fulfilling her dreams.
Despite not having plans in place to tie the knot just yet, she’s pronounced herself as her own fiancé to family and friends.
She added: “At first, some people were surprised.

“It’s not something you see every day.
“But the people who truly love me understood the meaning behind it.
“My closest friends found it inspiring and brave.
“Many women have told me I gave them permission to see themselves differently and to value themselves more.
“For a long time, I gave too much of my heart to the wrong people.
“I have experienced engagement and marriage in the past – and I value those chapters as they’ve shaped me into the person I am today.

“After my last divorce, though, I promised myself I would never again lose my self-esteem in an unhealthy emotional dynamic.
“This is totally different.
“When you commit to yourself, there is no fear of abandonment, insecurity or dependency.
“This love is unconditional and permanent.
“It’s been the most honest relationship I’ve ever had.”
