A police officer allegedly shot and killed his wife during their own wedding reception after assaulting her in front of her three children.
Daniel Barbosa Marinho and Nájylla Duenas Nascimento had married in a civil ceremony on the morning of Saturday (9 May).
Later that day, during the celebrations, the couple argued and the situation escalated into physical violence.

Family members and other guests tried to intervene and managed to remove Nájylla’s three children from the scene amid the chaos.
The children – aged 15, 12 and eight – are from a previous relationship of Nájylla.
During the confrontation, Marinho – a municipal guard – allegedly took his service weapon, assaulted Nájylla, and fired shots into the air before leaving the scene.
Witnesses said he later returned to the home in Campinas, Brazil, and shot Nájylla.

Paramedics attended the scene but confirmed the 34-year-old woman had died.
Marinho, 55, was arrested on suspicion of femicide and domestic violence after contacting the Municipal Guard himself.
A firearm and ammunition were seized, as reported by Need To Know.
He had been with the force – which, alongside the criminal investigation, is now opening an internal inquiry into the incident – since 1998.
In a statement, it said: “The force is fully cooperating with the Civil Police investigation and remains available to the authorities to provide any necessary clarification.”
Nájylla’s mother, Rosilaine Alves Duenas, had previously warned her daughter about Marinho’s violent behaviour.
Rosilaine, 49, told local media that Marinho would often become aggressive when he drank alcohol.

She did not attend the celebration due to a physical disability but learned of the killing from her youngest daughter.
Nájylla was the eldest of four siblings, who live in Paraná and travelled to Campinas yesterday (10 May) to help arrange the funeral, scheduled for today (11 May)
She was studying Law at an online university. Rosilaine said: “She wanted to become a lawyer.”
Marinho remains in custody.
