A six-year-old boy has died after the swing he was playing on at school broke, causing him to fall and hit his head on stones.
Ian Gael Hernández was in the playground of his nursery school when the tragedy unfolded on Monday (25 May) morning.
He had been using a swing when the metal structure suddenly collapsed.

Ian fell and struck his head on stones lining the edge of the play area in Monclova, Mexico.
An ambulance was called, but relatives allegedly felt it was taking too long to arrive, so they rushed the boy to a local hospital themselves.
However, on arrival, medics confirmed he had no vital signs, as reported by Need To Know.

The Coahuila State Attorney General’s Office has opened an investigation to determine how the swing collapsed and whether there were failures in maintenance, supervision, or safety protocols at the María Helena Chanes nursery school.
Locals say the equipment had been deteriorating for some time, with concerns over a lack of upkeep in the playground area.
The structure involved in Monday’s accident was removed from the preschool yesterday (28 May).
Children were still out of school at the time of writing.
Ian was laid to rest in Monclova on Wednesday (27 May).

He is survived by his parents, grandparents, a four-year-old sister and a two-year-old brother.
His devastated mother, Escarleth Guel Puente, wrote online: “How do I explain to your siblings that you’re gone, my little one?
“And if I hadn’t sent you to nursery school, you’d still be with me.
“I’d give anything to go back and undo sending you to nursery so you could still be here with me, my love.”
