Stunned sunseekers watched as a group of migrants jumped from a ‘taxi boat’ and waded ashore at an idyllic beach.

Shocking footage shows nine men climbing out of a fishing boat just yards from the coastline.

They can then be seen wading through the shallows and walking onto the sand as children play just a stone’s throw away.

The scenes were reportedly filmed at Playa de San José in Níjar, Spain, on Saturday (6 September).

The beach sits in the heart of the Cabo de Gata-Níjar Natural Park, with the Níjar coastline a popular arrival point for boats travelling from North Africa.

Just a week earlier, Spain’s Maritime Rescue Service rescued nine Algerian men from a boat 66km (41 miles) off the coast.

The vessel had departed from Oran, Algeria, and its occupants had reportedly been adrift for 38 hours, as reported by Need To Know.

Almería Province remains the main point of irregular entry along the Andalusian coastline.

Although figures for 2026 show a decline compared with the previous year, migrant landings and rescues have continued week after week.

During August, boats carrying more than 150 people in total reached or were intercepted along the Almería coast.

Meanwhile, local media reports that western Almería has also become a hotspot for an illegal trade in fake documents linked to immigration procedures.

Criminal networks are allegedly helping migrants obtain legal status using fake address registrations, sham rental agreements and bogus jobs.

Nearby towns including Roquetas de Mar, El Ejido and Vícar have reportedly become hubs for the trade.

Police investigations have uncovered hundreds of allegedly fraudulent documents and registrations.

In Roquetas de Mar, Operation “Tabula Rasa” led to 18 arrests and uncovered 188 fraudulent address registrations.

More than 100 people were registered at the same building in one case, while 69 victims said they had paid up to €2,500 (£2,148) for a fake registration.

Other investigations have uncovered alleged bogus jobs, fake payslips and sham rental agreements, with one network accused of making more than €100,000 (£85,929).

The Guardia Civil says the trade has become increasingly widespread and has urged property owners to regularly check who is registered at their addresses.
