A married businessman allegedly used a hydraulic machine to bury his lover in a 16ft deep hole after killing her over a money squabble.

Paulo Antônio Herberto Bianchini stands accused of burning Dayara Talissa Fernandes da Cruz’s remains on a farm.

Due to their advanced state of decomposition, it wasn’t possible to determine the cause of death.

A JCB had to be brought in to remove them from the hole on a 112-acre farm in Orizona, south west of Brasilia, Brazil.

The police say Da Cruz, 21, was killed on 10 March by her lover Bianchini.

They believe the married businessman had argued with her about a sum of money.

Bianchini, 34, had allegedly transferred 86,000 BRL (£11,700) to his lover’s account.

But Da Cruz had allegedly used it for “personal purposes”, leading to the end of their relationship in October 2023.

The pair had reconciled in January 2024, as reported on Need To Know.

But the police say Bianchini had later told an acquaintance he had had Da Cruz killed “because of the money”.

The pair’s relationship lasted a year-and-a-half, but the police say Da Cruz was unaware Bianchini was married.

Bianchini is accused of killing his lover, hiding her body, and pretending to be her in messages to her family.

He has been charged with homicide with aggravating factors, concealment of a body, and perverting the course of justice.

The police say certain words suddenly became abbreviated in messages sent from her phone on the day she was last seen.

Bianchini had reported Da Cruz’s disappearance days after her killing.

He was taken into custody on 1 July after the evidence against him mounted.

The police now believe he used a “hydraulic machine” to bury her body.

Two other people have been charged in connection with the crime.

One of Bianchini’s employees, aged 19, has been charged with concealment of a body and perverting the course of justice.

A 40-year-old woman has also been charged with the latter crime.
