A mayor managed to avoid arrest by escaping when police turned up at his own inauguration.
Pedro Luis Hernández de Paz was approached by officers at the end of the ceremony.
In a video filmed by someone in the audience, a huge brawl can be seen breaking out on the stage between members of the inauguration and police.

The scuffle even caused the backdrop to be ripped to the ground as audience members watched on in shock.
One resident can be heard shouting: “If you want to take him, take the whole town.”
Amid the commotion, Pedro managed to make a quick dash.
Men wearing caps assisted the mayor as he ran out of the crowd.
Yesterday (17 December) morning, Pedro protested as municipal president of Santo Tomás de los Plátanos, located in Mexico State.
The failed arrest attempt was part of Operation Enjambre, which had been implemented by the state and federal government to arrest several officials from other mayor’s offices in the area.
Some of the officials have been linked to corruption, extortion, express kidnapping, and homicide, as reported by Need To Know.
Pedro is the husband of the current mayor, María del Rosario Matías Esquivel.
And residents of Santo Tomás de los Plátanos are very protective of him.
In another clip, vehicles owned by police pass by a small group of women.
The women scream at the cars and are visibly agitated.
Pedro’s whereabouts are currently unknown.
