A newlywed mum, 35, died from a brain tumour just two months after tying the knot.

Alessia Chiapparo battled it for three years.

She wed her husband, Christian Da Rold, in November.

Her tumour was discovered three years ago, just one month after she gave birth to their daughter, Nina.

Tragic Alessia Chiapparo, of Belluno, north of Venice, Italy, passed away yesterday (21 Jan).

Devastated Christian said: “She suddenly fell ill, so we went straight to the hospital in Belluno for tests.

“Shortly after, we received the diagnosis.”

Alessia travelled to Montpellier, France, for surgery, but it failed to stop her cancer from metastasising.

He added: “Although she always lived as if she would never die, in the end, the situation became too much.

“And she had to give in to the disease.”

The couple tied the knot at the Belluno hospice where Alessia spent the last months of her life.

The ceremony was officiated by Belluno Province president, Roberto Padrin, who is a long-time friend of the family.

Christian – a former footballer – said: “Alessia faced the illness with incredible strength.

“She never took herself too seriously and always tried to lift everyone up with her positive attitude.

“She never made it seem like a burden.”

Alessia was raised in Naples but moved to Belluno about 10 years ago after work stints in Fabriano and Milan.

She met her future husband while working as an engineering manager in Agordo.

He was working as a youth football coach but took leave in December to be closer to his wife and daughter.

Chiapparo is survived by her parents, her older brother, and a grandmother, as reported by Need To Know.

Her final send-off will be held in Sedico tomorrow (23 Jan) and her ashes will rest at a cemetery in Naples.

“Then, we’ll try to find peace again,” Christian said, “Especially for our daughter.”
