A jeweller’s was raided in broad daylight as shocked onlookers watched on.
A passer-by witnessed the robbers making a getaway from the shop.
James Lees had just walked out of a bookshop when he heard a commotion nearby.

He saw a car speeding off down the street and shocked staff running after it.
It happened in Bournemouth, yesterday (19 Jan).
Police say they are investigating, as reported by Need To Know.
James said: “I was just coming out of Waterstones when I heard shouting and screaming coming from the nearby arcade.
“I then saw staff from the jewellery shop run outside and chase after a car.
“They were shouting for the car to stop and for people to get his details.
“But the car just sped away at high speed.
“I then went into the shop and the staff were distressed.
“They were clearly very shaken and scared.
“Other people were just standing around in shock having seen a robbery happen in broad daylight.
“I think thousands of pounds worth of jewellery were taken.”
A spokesperson for Dorset Police said: “We received a report at 3.09pm on Monday of a theft from Arcade Jewellers in Bournemouth Arcade in the town centre.
“Officers attended and carried out initial enquiries at the scene.
“No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.”
Arcade Jewellers has been in business for more than 40 years.
They sell both new and pre-loved jewellery.
The shop has been approached for comment.
