A malfunction caused the chairlift to suddenly change direction.
Footage showed skiers jumping off the lift and scrambling to safety as it sped backwards.
They ducked down in the snow and nervously tried to avoid being hit by the jerking chairs.

Staff members were heard shouting warnings and instructing tourists to jump off.
They even had to evacuate young children from the faulty chairlift.
Onlookers screamed “back away” to those jumping off the lift.
The chaotic scenes were filmed at the Gongchangling Hot Spring and Ski Resort in Liaoyang in north-eastern China on Wednesday (18 Feb).
The following day, a resort spokesperson confirmed that no one was injured during the malfunction.
They said the ski lift was temporarily closed for repairs before normal operations resumed later the same day, as reported by Need To Know.
One local said: “What goes around comes back to you.”
“Chinese influencers will say it’s a built in feature to help skiers get to ground level faster, so new and high tech that the west doesn’t have yet,” added Jeffrey.
