Moisés Trindade Barbosa Ferreira was gunned down in cold blood in the street outside his house.
Two men arrived at the 33-year-old’s property on a motorbike at around 7pm on Monday (23 Feb).
They allegedly opened fire on the actor in front of two of his three children and his parents.
Moisés – a member of several theatre groups and an influencer who campaigned against crime – was killed on the spot.
The alleged murder took place in the city of Salvador in north-eastern Brazil.
The gunmen fled the scene and remain at large.
At the time of writing, no arrests have been made as the investigation into the shooting continues.
Last year, Moisés opened a bar in his local community which also served as a venue for his artistic activities.

He was a member of the online drama groups Fatos de Favela and Pé No Chão, as reported by Need To Know.
They presented pieces related to life in the Brazilian favelas.
Their productions had an anti-crime theme.
A spokesperson for Pé No Chão said: “It is with immense sadness that we have to say goodbye to our friend and companion, our faithful Moisés.
“Today, only good and happy memories will remain, which is how you were with all of us.
“When you arrived, it was all joy and laughter.

“We wish strength to his family, friends, fans, and those who truly loved him.”
His close friend Alan Cardoso said: “He just wanted to succeed in life, 100% pure.
“He had so many plans and dreams.
“We fought to get many people out of the world of crime.
“You loved filming just like me.
“I will carry you with me until my last breath.”
