A man says he’s constantly mistaken for pop star Joe Jonas and claims women have been flooding his inbox with messages ranging from offers of romantic getaways to detailed plans for future children.

Roberto Sfredda says strangers regularly stop him in the street to ask if he’s the singer and Camp Rock star.

The 28-year-old says the comparisons have followed him across Europe, South America and the US but one of the most dramatic reactions happened during a trip to California.

“Sometimes people just stare at me trying to figure it out, and then they come up and ask, ‘Are you Joe Jonas?’, Roberto, a content creator from Italy, told Need To Know.

“Other times they just assume I am and ask for a photo.

“One of the funniest moments was when I was simply walking down the street in California.

“A girl next to me suddenly screamed while looking at me and I got scared.

“And it was just the usual, she thought I was Joe Jonas.

“Honestly, I don’t mind being mistaken for him.

“Apparently a lot of girls like it and I definitely don’t mind.”

Other admirers have also been particularly bold.

The travel content creator said: “I get fangirl messages often.

“A lot of girls ask if I’m single, casually trying to be friendly at first and then slowly working their way closer.

“It usually starts innocent, then turns into, ‘So when are you coming to my city?’ pretty quickly.

“I’ve had quite a few people shoot their shot.

“Some very confidently. Some very creatively.

“Someone once wrote, ‘I already told my friends you’re going to be the father of my future kids. Just let me know when you’re free so we can start planning’.”

Another follower allegedly sent him a full itinerary for a “romantic escape” weekend – complete with hotel options, dinner schedules and even ideas for future family trips.

He also claims he’s constantly asked whether he has an OnlyFans account.

Roberto said: “The level of detail and confidence was insane.

“I also constantly get asked if I have OnlyFans but that’s definitely not in my plans.

“Compliments are of every kind.

“Some people even say I’m better looking, others get very imaginative and dramatic with what they write.

“Let’s just say creativity is not lacking in my DMs.

“The messages about my resemblance are nonstop, funny, overwhelming, but also kind of flattering.”

The lookalike confusion has been happening for years but recently intensified after Roberto posted a side-by-side comparison video online.

He says he made it “just for fun” but it racked up more than 1.7m views.

Roberto said: When I posted the comparison video, I didn’t expect it to explode the way it did.

“The response has been crazy.

“There were thousands of comments, people tagging friends, debates about whether we’re actually twins or not.

“A lot of people are convinced it’s more than just a small resemblance.

“My inbox definitely felt it.

“The first few days were wild.”

While Roberto says he has occasionally joked about being the real Joe, his strong Italian accent tends to expose him quickly.

He said: “I’ve definitely joked about it before.

“A few times I pretended to be him but I was quickly caught by my accent, so it didn’t last long

“Usually, when people ask if I’m him, I just play along with a big smile.

“It’s harmless fun and usually gets a laugh, sometimes confused looks, too, of course.”

There is, however, one expectation he tries to avoid.

Roberto added: “As soon as someone makes the Joe Jonas comparison, the next logical step in their mind is to ask me to sing something.

“There’s this assumption that if you look remotely like a pop star, you must come with the full package.

“I usually tell them it’s much safer if I just stick to playing an instrument.

“That way people can keep the illusion alive.

“The resemblance might be there but it’s probably best for everyone if I don’t test the vocal theory.”
