The terrifying moment a police officer was struck during a dramatic early-morning traffic stop on a busy road has been caught on camera.
Shocking footage shows the instant a car ploughed into the scene, sending vehicles crashing into each other and leaving an officer hurt.
The horror unfolded as two officers stood beside a pulled-over motor when another vehicle suddenly slammed into them from behind.

The force of the smash shunted a patrol car forward into the stopped vehicle, which then struck one of the troopers.
Despite the violent impact, the injured officer escaped with only minor injuries, as reported by Need To Know.
The crash happened just after 5am on 15 March on the Thruway in Mamaroneck, New York, US.
Two New York State Police troopers had been carrying out a routine stop on a 2025 Mercedes saloon driven by Siiyer W. Walker, 52, from Connecticut, on the hard shoulder.
The injured trooper was rushed to Westchester Medical Centre, treated for minor injuries and later released.
His colleague was not hit in the incident.
The driver involved was also taken to hospital with minor body pain, while Walker was checked over at the scene by emergency crews but chose not to go to the hospital.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
