A 16-year-old girl has died after falling from a 550ft-high waterfall swing.
The teen told operators second before her fatal plunge: “It’s not tight enough.”
The victim, reportedly a tourist surnamed Liu, was seen being assisted onto the swing ride – a high-altitude pulley-and-rope system that spans over a 550ft (168m) waterfall drop – by two staff members.

She was due to complete a 985-ft arc over the canyon.
Witnesses said the teenager repeatedly screamed “it’s not tight enough” and “it’s loose” at staff members moments before she was sent over the edge.
As her body cleared the safety railing, the rope suddenly came loose and she plunged onto the rock face below.
The tragic accident took place at the Maliuyan Adventure Park in Huaying City, China, on Sunday (3 May).
The Park had been open to the public for just over a month, advertising “extreme” thrill-seeking experiences.
Emergency medical teams rushed the teenager to a nearby hospital, but she was tragically pronounced dead on arrival due to the severity of her injuries.
No official cause has yet been confirmed.
The scenic area issued a temporary closure notice on Monday and operations will remain suspended until 10 May, as reported by Need To Know.
Huaying City authorities announced that an investigation team had been formed to investigate the teen’s death yesterday (5 May).
The ride’s operator, Chongqing Adventure Camp, is currently under investigation to determine if equipment maintenance and staff training met national safety standards.
Grieving relatives of the victim have demanded “full accountability” from the park, alleging that basic safety protocols were bypassed to manage high visitor volumes.
The site, promoted for its dramatic karst landscapes and adventure activities, had been inspected by senior local officials as recently as 18 April with no safety concerns raised at the time.
The investigation continues.
