Twenty rollercoaster riders – including school children – were left suspended high above the ground at a near-vertical angle as torrential rain lashed down.
Footage shows the thrill-seekers stuck face-down at the top of the ride while onlookers watched from below under umbrellas.
The Gravity Max rollercoaster at Lihpao Land suddenly came to a halt midway through its run at around 10:40am today (8 June).

Passengers were stranded in the miserable weather for around eight minutes.
Staff at the theme park in Taichung, Taiwan, eventually climbed up and safely evacuated all 20 riders.
Lihpao Land is one of Taiwan’s largest resort-style amusement complexes, popular for its mix of thrill rides, water park attractions, and shopping outlets.
It is a frequent destination for school trips, particularly at the end of the academic year, as reported by Need To Know.
Schoolchildren are believed to have been among those on the ride at the time of the incident.
One parent told local media: “I ended up watching my daughter get stuck up there and unable to get down.”
According to the theme park, the ride stopped after its safety system was triggered by a sudden gust of wind and unexpected heavy rain.
The rollercoaster is reportedly monitored by more than 100 safety-control factors.
A social media user who shared footage clarified: “It got stuck up there because it was raining and they stopped it for safety reasons.
“So that’s why it paused – it wasn’t a malfunction.”
