A baker has created a six-foot replica of Star Wars’ Han Solo encased in carbonite – wowing social media users.
Catherine Pervan and her daughter Hanalee, owners of the One House Bakery in Benicia, California, US, spent weeks moulding and baking the life-sized replica.
They shared images of their bread sculpture on Instagram where the post has gone viral with over 2,500 likes and hundreds of comments.

The pair used wood and two dough types, including a yeastless dough with high sugar content that will help make it last longer.
They called their Star Wars creation ‘Pan Solo’, adding that they entered the enormous loaf to the Benicia Main Street Scarecrow Contest.
The mother and daughter joked: “Pan Solo has been encased in Levainite! I know, we’re giant nerds!”
The bread creation, based on the famous ‘carbonite scene’ from The Empire Strikes Back, measures 1.82 metres (6 feet) in height.

Catherine and Hanalee worked tirelessly on the bread model, which shows the beloved character’s anguished face in great detail.
Hanalee admitted that she may have become a bit obsessed at times, saying: “Mom made me leave it because I was obsessing over the lips, she was like ‘you need to walk away’.”
The bread sculpture is currently on display outside One House Bakery as the creators hope to obtain enough votes to win the town’s Scarecrow Contest.
Local residents will vote on their favourite sculptures from a total of around two dozen.
In 2020, Catherine and Hanalee, both huge sci-fi fans, entered another Star Wars-themed food sculpture in 2020 with Baby Yoda from the Disney series The Mandalorian.
