A great-grandmother has scooped a cool million on the lottery just five days after retiring.
Susan Maxwell collected her jackpot from the lottery headquarters on 6 October, having been settling into retirement on 1 October.
Maxwell – who comes from Arlington, Massachusetts State, US – won $1 million (£825,830) on a ‘$15,000,000 Money Maker’ scratchcard.
Maxwell chose to receive her windfall in the form of a one-time payment, taking home $650,000 (£536,575) before taxes.

She told lottery officials that she plans to use her winnings to help out her children, grandkids and great-grandchildren and that her retirement had nothing to do with the win – saying “it was just time”.
She bought her winning ticket at Arlington Convenience on Massachusetts Avenue in her hometown.
The store will receive a $10,000 (£8,254) bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Earlier this month, a woman turned a small lottery win into a $170,000 (£140,335) jackpot.

Tammie Pelton – who comes from Michigan State, US – first played a free game and won a bonus credit.
She then used the credit to play an online lotto game and scooped $100 (£83).
With her small cash prize, Tammie decided to buy a number of Powerball tickets and subsequently landed the $170,000 windfall.
