A news presenter fainted during a live broadcast.
Pamela Villanueva was seen talking to a reporter during the studio broadcast.
As the 29-year-old thanks her colleague, she suddenly slurs her words and appears faint.
Villanueva then seems to lose her footing and she stumbles forwards as the coverage cuts to a shocked co-presenter.
The camera angle drops to the co-host’s lower half as the operator rushes to help Villanueva off-camera.
The incident took place on the show TeleDiario Monterrey on Channel 6 in Mexico
At first, many viewers believed it was a festive prank, however presenters Erik Solheim and Sandra González confirmed it was real.
And that Villanueva was receiving immediate medical care.
Solheim said on air: “It is important to mention that, before the break, our colleague felt a little unwell.
“Fortunately, paramedics intervened and she is now fine.
“On the doctor’s advice, she will return to the air tomorrow.
“It is our duty to update you on her health status as we were all really scared when it happened.”
González said: “We had an emergency situation, we are completely live, these things can happen, it is being attended to, thanks to all the people who have been asking about it.”
Hours later, Villanueva appeared on air via a video link to reassure viewers that she was fine and would return to work the next day.
She explained that her health episode was caused by skipping breakfast and feeling fatigued.
Villanueva said: “It wasn’t a joke, I really fainted. Fortunately, it didn’t get any worse.
“The doctor and paramedics from Multimedios provided me with immediate care.
“I will have some tests done, but I am in good health now.
“Thank you to everyone who was concerned, I will return to work tomorrow, it was down to decompensation.”
She also thanked cameraman Juan Diego for preventing her from falling to the floor.
Villanueva said: “Thanks to my colleagues for their reaction. Juan prevented me from hitting my head.”
