Vincent Kompany’s previous Manchester City shirt fetched an impressive £715 at auction, despite being soiled with mud.
The shirt, worn by the former City captain in a match against Birmingham City on November 13, 2010, was part of a vast collection of football memorabilia put up for auction.
Notably, the Premier League shirt features a poppy symbol in support of The Royal British Legion for Remembrance, but it still bears brown stains on the back around the number ‘4’.

Ewbank’s Auctioneers in Woking, Surrey handled the auction, which included various football kits spanning the last fifty years.
Among the items were two more dirty kits, including one worn by Wayne Bridge, another former City player.
The unwashed shirt, worn during the preseason of the 2010-2011 season, fetched £84.50, while a Connor Wickham Sunderland shirt from the 2014-2015 season also sold for £123.50, despite its dirty condition.

Even though he’s now a popular football pundit on Sky Sports, Micah Richards’ previous City shirt remained unsold at the auction.
The Champions League edition shirt from the 2012-2013 season, estimated to sell for approximately £250, failed to find a buyer.
Richards, a former England international, donned the shirt during a 3-1 defeat to Ajax on October 24, 2012.
Meanwhile, shirts belonging to England icon and goalkeeping legend Peter Shilton fetched a considerable sum.

The match-worn England kit from the late 1970s commanded an impressive price of £1,170 at the auction.
Another shirt worn by Shilton during his tenure with the national team sold for £780.
This particular shirt, a blue one, was worn by the legend from 1981 to 1983.
