Colleen Hoover has been slammed over her line of nail polish based on her hit novel about domestic violence.
The best-selling author’s novel, It Ends With Us tells the story of Lily Bloom who experiences domestic abuse from her partner, Ryle.
A film adaptation of the book starring Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni is set to be released this summer.

The 44-year old writer announced her collaboration with the nail salon brand, Olive and June.
According to the brand, the line of coloured varnishes and press-on nails is “inspired by Colleenʼs bestselling titles.”

This includes It Ends With us which heavily focuses on the issue of domestic violence and features shocking scenes of abuse.
Individual bottles cost $9 (£7.08) on the Olive and June website.
But a collection of all eight shades will set you back $62 (£49)
They are also available to purchase in Target stores in the US.
The shades are named after characters and settings in the book.

One controversial colour in the nail polish line is called, ‘Brave blush.’
But readers were quick to criticise the novelist’s decision to release the book-themed nail varnish.
Many have suggested that it is inappropriate to sell merchandise based on the domestic violence theme in the book.
It comes after Colleen Hoover was forced to pull an adult colour book based on the same novel last year.
She later apologised for the insensitive activity book and it ceased production.
Charlotte Mclaren fumed: “This is wildly inappropriate.
“I’m always the first defending these books but good god this is just ridiculous – this is romanticising abuse.”

Another reader, called Raya said: “This is literally a book about domestic abuse, why would it be a good idea to market it this way?”
Tay Lietz said: “Whoa read the room, these proceeds better be going to DV.”
”How is anyone okay with domestic abuse themed nail polish,” said another angry reader.
Jessica Mack said: “Yikes, I’ve always loved Olive and June but this does not seem like a good collaboration unless all the proceeds are going to domestic violence causes.”

Reader, Katie fumed: “Did we learn nothing from the colouring books?”
However, some readers are excited to buy the beauty product.
