A nightclub has been slammed after advertising a night with the ‘real-life’ Martha from Baby Reindeer.
Revellers are being offered the chance to take selfies with Fiona Harvey.
Kasbah Nightclub said the 58-year-old will appear on Saturday (18 May).
The Scotswoman appeared on Piers Morgan Uncensored last Thursday (9 May).
It came after she was revealed as the real-life Martha from the number one Netflix drama.
The emotional show claims to be based on the comedian’s real life experience with a stalker, as reported by Need To Know.
The series covers hard-hitting topics including stalking as well as grooming and sexual assault.
Richard Gadd says he wants to show viewers that both he and ‘Martha’ were victims in the story.
But the nightclub in Coventry appears to be mocking Gadd’s story in the event poster.
They claim they are holding a ‘World Exclusive’ event where Harvey will personally appear.
It reads: ”A personal appearance by Fiona Harvey aka Martha of Baby Reindeer this Saturday, 18 May.
”She will be signing autographs, taking selfies and she may also take a lucky reindeer home to hang her curtains.
“Tag a friend who loves a bit of curtain hanging.”
The poster made by Kasbah nightclub features an image of Fiona Harvey from her Piers Morgan interview.
Although the venue hasn’t confirmed if the event is a cruel joke, club-goers were left furious at the post.
Jack Carter said: “Turning a victim’s story of stalking and sexual assault into a joke and trying to profit from it is genuinely depraved and you should feel nothing but shame.”
However, a spokesperson for Kasbah replied to Jack’s comment.
They wrote: “Is that not what Netflix have done?”
Another person, called Yuna claimed: “How on earth do you find it acceptable to directly take the p*ss out of a man’s sexual harassment and stalking story.”
Ryan Prew said: “If this is real it’s a disgrace and you should be ashamed.”
Paul Kay claimed: “Right so wait a minute let’s just reverse the roles here.
“If there was a TV series about a guy who went to jail for stalking and traumatising girls would you be paying him to come into your club to take pictures and sign autographs?”
Another person, called Alex claimed: “If that was a man stalking a woman, you wouldn’t give them the platform absolutely disgusting, boycott Kasbah.”
Kasbah has been approached for comment.
