Kylian Mbappe has committed to joining Real Madrid on a free transfer once his Paris St-Germain contract ends on June 30.
The French striker had verbally committed to the move in February and made his departure from PSG public in May.
Now, with terms officially signed, Mbappe will head to Spain when the La Liga transfer window opens on July 1. Real Madrid is expected to announce the deal next week and may present Mbappe at the Bernabeu ahead of Euro 2024.

At 25, Mbappe, who clinched the World Cup with France in 2018, is PSG’s all-time top scorer, netting 256 goals since his initial loan from Monaco in 2017. His agreement with Real Madrid spans until 2029, offering him an annual salary of 15 million euros (£12.8 million) along with a 150 million euro (£128 million) signing-on bonus paid over five years. Additionally, Mbappe will retain a portion of his image rights.
This move allows Mbappe the opportunity to play alongside Croatian midfielder Luka Modric, who is expected to sign a one-year contract extension with Real Madrid. Modric, 38, made a substitute appearance in Madrid’s recent 2-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund at Wembley, securing their 15th European Cup title. Modric’s current contract expires later this month, but he is likely to extend his stay for another year.
In contrast, German midfielder Toni Kroos, 34, exited the field for Modric with four minutes left in what was his final appearance for Real Madrid after a decade with the club. Following their record-extending triumph, Real Madrid will celebrate with a trophy parade through the Spanish capital on Sunday night.
