A small island on the River Thames has hit the market with a price tag of £75,000. The island, spanning just 190 square meters (2,000 square feet), is smaller than a standard tennis court, which measures 260 square meters (2,798 square feet).
Temple Weir Island, historically used for fishing and boat mooring, is situated in the middle of the river at Bisham, near the upscale area of Marlow in Buckinghamshire.
While private islands are typically symbols of luxury reserved for the wealthy, often found in tropical climates with crystal-clear waters, this particular isle offers a more rustic charm.

It is surrounded by the Thames’ murky waters, with fishermen frequently spotted along the riverbanks.
This unique piece of land is currently being sold through Savills estate agents and is listed on Rightmove.

Richard Maby, a property agent, explained to Need To Know that the current owner has utilized the island for mooring a private boat and for recreational activities such as fishing and private gatherings.
Maby detailed the island’s features, mentioning that one side has a built-up mooring while the other is more natural, lined with trees. Additionally, a domed stone pergola is located at the island’s center, adding an interesting and appealing touch.

He described it as a rare opportunity for someone to acquire an off-grid sanctuary. “For those with a spirit for adventure, who are looking for somewhere they can escape to after a busy day, it’s the perfect hideaway,” Maby noted.
