They then allegedly left it running through the night.
A relative who attended the party – to celebrate the 15th birthday of one of the victims – came across the seven bodies at around 11am on 23 June.
The police arrived at the house in El Barrancón del Tío Blas, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to find the victims’ bodies and the generator that was still running.
Three minors and their parents, with the surname Ramos Reyes, were killed along with a couple who decided to stay the night after the party.

It is believed they died from the fumes emitted from the generator inside the house, as reported by Need To Know.
The children have been named as Lesly, 17, Henry, 16, and Messi, 15.
An investigation into their deaths is ongoing.
