An award-winning restaurant has been wrecked in a car smash – for the third time in a decade.
The Royal Phoenix in the quiet town of Oswaldtwistle in Lancashire was struck by the motor.
The car ploughed into the Cantonese restaurant at about 2.30am on Tuesday (12 August).
Thankfully, no one was injured, but a video shows the shocking moment as it unfolds.
The red Ford Fiesta crashed through the front of the venue, which has won TripAdvisor Certificates of Excellence, three times.
A stunned staff member can then be seen rushing out to see if they can help.
Aftermath pictures also show the motor on top of a metal pavement barrier that it struck before, being buried in the wrecked front of the restaurant.
This is not the first time the establishment has been hit by a vehicle, as reported by Need To Know.

Similar incidents happened in 2019 and 2014 before its current owners took over.
The restaurant is now boarded up and closed for business until repairs can be done.
A message from the owners said: “Due to an unfortunate accident, we will be closed today until further notice.

“The Royal Phoenix apologises for any inconvenience caused.
“The Royal Phoenix would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this crisis,
“We feel very blessed and humbled by all the messages and help everyone has offered.
“We are very grateful that no one got hurt and everything is fixable.
“Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
There has been an outpouring of support from shocked locals.
Jo Shea said: “Gutted to see this. I was literally sitting in that window last week. Seems very surreal seeing it like that now. Glad everyone is ok.”

Jemma Dearden chimed in: “Another? Oh gosh. You poor people. Glad no-one was hurt.”
And Brian Semple added: “Oh no, sorry to hear this, hope everyone is ok and you’re open soon.”
