At the time of reporting, the people who shot him had not been identified.
Burlón, 51, and his family were driving to see Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

He took a route suggested by his GPS, which led him into the Morro dos Prazeres favela.
The slum is controlled by the feared Comando Vermelho – the largest criminal organisation in Rio.
After the family’s car was shot at, Burlón crashed into a wall.
Horror footage shows the bonnet with heavy damage and a small pool of blood in the front seat.
He was rescued by firefighters a short while later and taken to the Souza Aguiar Municipal Hospital.
Burlón is the director of the Argentine Chamber of Student Tourism.
He was Secretary of Tourism of Bariloche from 2017 to 2023. Before that, he managed a travel agency.
He was in the car with his wife, Nadia Loza, and their two children.

Loza is Secretary of Tourism for Salta Province, as reported by Need To Know.
The Tourist Police are investigating the case.
