A scientist has been accused of stabbing her friend to death in a car during a ‘sex game’.
Luciana Bustos Sánchez was the only person of interest in an investigation into the murder of Marcelo José Amarfil.
The 34-year-old refused to testify in her trial this week, which began one year and three months after the horror incident.

According to the prosecutor Francisco Pizarro, Sánchez stands accused “on charges of homicide which could see her face life imprisonment”.
It is alleged that on the night of 16 January 2024, Sánchez went to get food with Marcelo in his grey Ford Fiesta.
In the early hours of the morning, they are alleged to have parked up close by to an airport and engaged in sexual activities as part of a ‘sex game’.
Marcelo was reportedly completely naked in the driver’s seat, with leather wristbands reducing the mobility of his hands.

He was allegedly unable to see as his eyes were covered with black fabric similar to a sleep mask.
His hands were also attached to the steering wheel by a chain.
Sánchez, who was sitting in the passenger seat at the time, is accused of taking advantage of Marcelo’s defencelessness and stabbing him six times.
One wound was made to his face and the rest to his neck, as reported by Need To Know.
The final stab was fatal and, according to the prosecutor’s file, “ended up completely sectioning the right primitive carotid artery, in addition to vessels and arteries”.
Despite the serious injuries he has sustained, Marcelo allegedly managed to bite Sánchez’s right forearm in defence before breaking the chain that held his hands to the steering wheel.
He managed to get himself out of the vehicle and tried to escape on foot.
He then fell to the ground and died next to his car as a result of a hypovolemic shock.
Moments later, a police officer who was doing a routine security check of the area came across Sánchez.
She approached the police officer with a red liquid all over her hands and said: “My friend killed himself, he killed himself with a knife.”
But Sánchez’s story was allegedly undercut after Marcelo underwent an autopsy.
The results came back and showed that Marcelo had been stabbed six times.
None of his injuries had characteristics of self-inflicted injuries and they were deemed to be “compatible with a homicide”.
It has been reported that Sánchez first met Marcelo at a gym where he worked as a teacher.

According to the victim’s sister, Graciela Amarfil, the pair were close friends and would often attend family events together, including birthday celebrations.
They often went to dinner with each other, and Sánchez was well-liked by Marcelo’s family.
The pair were believed to be friends and not in a romantic relationship.
It is not known whether they often engaged in sexual encounters with each other.
On 7 April, the trial began against Sánchez, who works as a scientist for Conceit.
After life imprisonment was requested, Luciana’s defence lawyer Néstor Roly Olivera argued an alleged violation of the constitutional right of defense.
This proposal was rejected by the court.
Néstor also argued that Luciana was a victim of abuse and that sexual relations were not consensual.
He highlighted that the accused is a lesbian and is in a relationship with a woman.
According to Sánchez’s version, she acted in self-defense after Marcelo allegedly attacked her.
During the trial, carried out by judges Gerardo Fernández Caussi, Matías Parrón and Guillermo Adárvez, about 50 witnesses will testify.
The sentence for the crime, which took place in the town of Las Chacritas, in San Juan, Argentina, is expected to be announced at the end of April.
