Brits have fallen out of love with the week-long holiday, as they swap all-inclusives for ‘mini breaks’ that last just 24 hours.
A new report has revealed that 85% of Brits would be open to taking an extreme one day holiday, with this being tipped as the top travel trend in 2025.
The research, released today (23rd April) by Archers, also revealed that the average person spends seven hours and 36 minutes putting together their activities list.
Organising a great holiday for one day only is no small feat.
To save you the hassle of reading through endless ‘tips’ pages, Archers – best known for its delicious peach schnapps – has teamed up with TOWIE star Gemma Collins to launch a 24-hour AI-driven travel agency.
In just seconds, anyone visiting makeitpeachy.ai can use the fuss-free itinerary to generate ideas of what to do at your favourite holiday destination.
As Gemma says, the idea is to give travellers “less faff” to deal with – so they can focus on having fun instead.
With limited time on their hands, Brits are opting for guaranteed, easy pleasures.
Four in 10 would prefer to hit the beach or have a foodie experience, instead of wasting time in queues to see top attractions.
After all, they only have 24 hours to play with.
Meanwhile, one in three (34%) are willing to jump on a plane to enjoy a gig and among Gen Zers, nearly one in five want to spend a day thrift shopping abroad.
Others are simply looking to mend a broken heart; according to the research, 5.5m Brits make travel plans to get over an ex or find love abroad.
When it comes to the budget, culture vultures who don’t need to worry about hotel expenses are willing to shell out an average of £264.40 for an extreme one-day trip.
But which location is on the hot list?
Interestingly, neither Spain nor Portugal made the top three list.
France beat Ireland to first place with a slim margin and was voted the ultimate 24-hour destination among 30% – compared to 28% for the land of Guinness guzzlers.
Italy landed the third spot, scoring as the first choice among one in five participants.
Gemma believes Archers this will be a game-changer for people who – like her – have no time for the “stress of planning”.

The 44-year-old TV reality star said: “My God. I wish I had the Archers AI 24 Hour Travel Agency sooner!
“I am sick to death of scrolling through sites or waiting on decisions to be made on group chats!
“Let’s be real, no one’s got time for the stress of planning.
“The AI is quick, easy and will sort you out with the perfect getaway in no time.
“From determined shopping crawls in Barcelona to last-minute feasting in Florence, it’s all about packing big energy into a little window of time.
“Both are, of course, a bit of me.
“So, whether you’re jetting off with your huns or just fancy a cheeky solo escape, we’ve got you covered.
“Less faff, more fabulous memories – now that’s what I call peachy!”
While most mini breaks take place in Europe, given it’s on the doorstep for UK residents, some intrepid travellers are willing to go further afield.
Even if it means they lose out on time or get less time to enjoy their destination.
One in 10 would get on a flight to New York City, while 8% would jump on a seven-hour flight from London to Dubai.
“At Archers, we’re all about bringing a refreshing twist to life’s best moments – and that includes how we holiday,” said Karen Daly, Archers UK marketing manager.
“With more of us looking for quick, hassle-free getaways, we wanted to create something that makes planning effortless and fun.
“The Archers 24-Hour AI Travel Agency does exactly that, serving up instant, tailored itineraries so you can spend less time stressing and more time making memories.
“Whether it’s a group adventure or a spontaneous solo night away, we’re here to make it peachy!”
