Thrillseekers were stranded 50ft in the air for three hours after a fairground ride broke down.
Around 30 people became trapped when the attraction – called Top Gun – screeched to a halt following a loud bang yesterday evening (27 May).
Panic quickly spread among the eight children and 10 women on board.

One desperate rider alerted the emergency services via Instagram while others tried to call the local police.
Firefighters arrived on the scene but their initial attempt to rescue the thrillseekers ended in failure when an on-site crane couldn’t reach the required height.
Fire and rescue personnel provided water and biscuits to everyone trapped on the ride while they waited for help, as reported by Need To Know.
A rescue team eventually arrived with a hydraulic sky-lift vehicle that could reach heights of 150ft.
Eventually, after over three hours and the combined efforts of 35 firefighters and police officers, everyone was brought safely to the ground.
A medical team was on hand to provide assistance to anyone requiring first aid.
The rescue operation took place at the VGP Universal Kingdom amusement park in Chennai, located on the Bay of Bengal in eastern India.
Police later confirmed that the ride had encountered a suspected mechanical failure.
A spokesperson said: “Preliminary findings suggest the ride was not properly maintained and had pre-existing mechanical issues that were apparently ignored by the operators.”
An investigation is ongoing.
