Francisco Javier Vázquez, Nemesio Antonio Durán, Livan Solís, Víctor Manuel Garza, and José Francisco Morales were part of a band called Grupo Fugitivo.
The men, aged between 20 and 40 years old, are suspected to have been victims of organised crime.
They were last seen and heard from last Sunday (25 May), and according to relatives, they were supposed to perform that night.

Yesterday (29 May), bodies were found at a remote ranch in the area where they went missing.
Their remains had been charred, local press said.

The State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) of Tamaulipas confirmed the discovery of the five musicians.
Héctor Joel Villegas, Secretary General of the Government of Tamaulipas, reported that nine people have so far been arrested.
Those who have been detained are suspected to have been involved in the band’s disappearance, and are linked to the Gulf Cartel, as reported by Need To Know.
Relatives and friends of each of the men met on Tuesday outside of a police station to protest and demand their whereabouts.

Local police deployed a security operation in the area.
According to local press, around 100 people who knew the musicians also protested in front of the mayor’s office.
People in the area of Reynosa, a border city in the northern part of the state of Tamaulipas, Mexico, have been left devastated by the situation.
At a press conference, prosecutor Irving Barrios assured that action had been taken to locate the men since their disappearance was reported.
