One hundred of the world’s most breathtaking nature photographs are heading to Cornwall this summer, as the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition returns to the Eden Project for its landmark 60th year.

On loan from the Natural History Museum in London, the prestigious international showcase will be on display from July 24 to September 28, once again transforming the Eden Project’s Outdoor Gardens and Core Building into a gallery of raw natural beauty and storytelling through the lens.

Now in its sixth decade, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition is widely regarded as the most significant event of its kind.

This year’s return to Eden, near St Austell in Cornwall, coincides with the attraction’s summer programme, Enchanted Earth, an immersive journey into nature’s hidden wonders, running from July 24 to September 7.

Together, the exhibition and wider events promise an unforgettable experience for all ages, as reported by Need To Know.

“Visitors will be immersed in the beauty, power and emotion of the natural world,” said Simon Townsend, General Manager at the Eden Project.

“These photographs inspire not only awe, but a sense of urgency. They’re a powerful reminder of what we stand to lose—and what we can protect—through collective action and care for our planet.”

Enchanted Earth offers visitors a magical sensory journey: kaleidoscopic crystals, glowing oceans, bioluminescence, and even a ceiling of butterflies. Interactive exhibits include geological dig pits, lifelike animal puppetry, and hands-on creative storytelling with The Zoo Keepers performance.

In addition to celebrating six decades of global wildlife photography, Eden will also mark 25 years of the National Wildflower Centre by launching a brand-new Wildflower Photographer of the Year competition.

Open to amateurs and professionals alike, the contest will run alongside the exhibition and invite entries that capture the beauty and diversity of wild plants across the UK.

All activities—including the exhibition—are included with Eden Project admission.

General entry begins at £38 for adults, with tickets doubling as annual passes. Visitors receiving Universal or Pension Credit can access discounted entry at £5.
