An ‘emo fish’ with black and purple colourings has been named after Darth Vader.
Scientists discovered the creature 13 feet below the water’s surface.
It was sitting perched on a rocky coral outcrop with large yellow eyes and a “distinctive purplish-black colouration”, as reported by Need To Know.

It is said to be a new species of the dwarfgoby, according to a study published on Thursday (3 July).
And researchers have named it Eviota vader, after the menacing Star Wars character.
Scientists were exploring the waters of Tufi, in Papua New Guinea, a region known for its unique “fjord” landscape, created by volcanic activity.
There are around 134 species of dwarfgobies with a “wide variety of colour patterns, but none of them feature an overall dark purplish-black appearance” like the one researchers have just found.

The fish measured just under half an inch long and was living in a small burrow at the top of a coral outcrop.
No other specimens of the new species were found.
The research team included David W. Greenfield, Mark V. Erdmann and Nesha K. Ishida.
Earlier this month, a dolphin was also likened to Darth Vader after it killed a shark in unusual circumstances.
The bottlenose is known as Anakin, after the young Jedi knight in the Star Wars franchise.
Anakin Skywalker went on to become Darth Vader in the sci-fi epics.
He got the name after a shocking killing spree.
Anakin has now killed a young common dolphin and a shark.

He was first seen attacking the juvenile dolphin three months ago when he repeatedly tossed it out of the water until it died.
He used the same method to target the shark.
The killer dolphin is part of a pod that lives off New Quay, Cardigan Bay, near Aberystwyth, Wales.
With both sea creatures earning comparisons to the infamous Sith Lord, it seems the dark side has well and truly reached the deep.
