A derelict hotel went up in flames as part of a seaside resort full of staycationers was cordoned off.
The blaze took hold in the building and threatened to spread to others nearby.
Firefighters battling the inferno as concerned onlookers watched on.

The fire erupted near Tolcarne beach, Newquay, Cornwall at about 4pm today (22 Jul).
Thick smoke could be seen billowing from the vacant buildings which are earmarked for future redevelopment into apartments.
Residents were urged to keep windows and doors closed and to avoid the area, as reported by Need To Know.
It led to a partial road closure too.
A Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “There is a large smoke plume and we are therefore requesting that people in the near vicinity keep windows and doors closed.
“Crews will be on scene for a prolonged period of time and request that people stay away from the area.
“Thank you for your cooperation.”
Devon and Cornwall Police and South Western Ambulance Service have been asked to comment.
