Nando’s have released a chicken Caesar wrap, garlic BBQ sauce and PERI-honey so I had to go down and try it.
Nando’s is a South African-born restaurant chain known for its flame-grilled peri-peri chicken, inspired by Portuguese and Mozambican flavors.
Since opening its first UK location in 1992, it’s become a cult favourite for its spicy marinades, relaxed vibe, and crave-worthy sides like peri-peri fries and garlic bread.

Over the years, they have released multiple new items which have made it onto the menu — but will this summer’s Caesar wrap and garlic BBQ chicken earn a permanent place, or are they just seasonal hype?
Well I made my way down to give these items a go and here is my verdict.
First off for starters I went for the new halloumi sticks with PERI honey and wow did it impress me.
The halloumi sticks were perfectly crisp, with the honey drizzle delivering a subtle peri kick and a sweet, lingering finish — the ideal balance of heat and indulgence.

For mains I tried out the new Garlic BBQ on thighs, Super Caesar wrap, extra saucy wings and the charred corn.
First up, the Garlic BBQ was incredible. Brought back by popular demand, it’s easy to see why — a smooth, sweet barbecue base with just the right hint of garlic that hits all the right notes.

Next up was the Super Caesar Wrap — and as a big fan of anything Caesar, I was genuinely excited to try it.
I paired mine with the classic peri chips and the new charred corn.

Visually, the wrap was a winner: beautifully presented and packed with ingredients. But for me, it felt a little too chaotic.
There was a lot going on — Caesar dressing, Nando’s signature spice (you still choose your heat level), herby pickles, and PERi honey. It felt like a bit of a mismatch, and the bold Caesar flavour I was hoping for got a little lost.
I spoke to a few customers and staff to get their take, and opinions were pretty split. Some enjoyed the bold mix-it-all-in approach, while others — like me — felt the Caesar element should’ve been the star of the show.
If you’re into bold flavour combos, layered textures, and sauce mashups, the Super Caesar could be a win for you — but as for me, I’m sticking with the Garlic BBQ.
The charred corn side was tasty, but again — a bit much for me. Between the creamy sauce, spring onions, PERinaise, and the charred flavour, it felt a little overdone.

I liked it, but I think it would’ve been better with a bolder char and a lighter hand on the sauces — let the BBQ do the talking.
Next up were the new saucy wings — and wow, they were unreal.
The heat level was definitely up there, leaving me (and a few others) breaking a sweat — but the flavour made it all worth it.
The chicken was tender, flaky, and fell right off the bone, while the sauce coated every corner, delivering bold flavour in every bite.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get to try everything — including the Big Cheese burger, which features grilled halloumi, red pepper and pineapple salsa, sliced avocado, and Churrasco PERinaise, all served in a rustic Portuguese roll.

Also making a comeback is the Nandino burger on the kids’ menu — a grilled chicken breast with lettuce, lemon & herb mayo, and Heinz ketchup, all nestled in their new soft roll.

I did manage to chat with the staff about these — the veggie option was praised as one of the best they’ve ever offered, and the kids’ Nandino burger was a hit too, described as a light yet satisfying choice.
To add to my experience the staff were lovely, friendly and really helpful – the manager Jade also made it a relaxing experience as she gave us any advice needed and talked us through the new items.
All in all, Nando’s is bringing it big with bold flavours, fresh twists, and fan-favourite returns — go check it out for yourself!
