The alarm was raised at about 5pm on Saturday (9 Aug).
After traversing a “challenging” route, rescuers eventually handed the injured man over to the care of the ambulance service about four hours later, as reported by Need To Know.

A spokesperson for Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team (Tavistock) said: “Teams deployed from Willsworthy Butts, with Land Rovers to take a stretcher and medical equipment, as well as a rope rescue kit due to steep ground.
“We set up a radio relay on top of Ger Tor to improve radio comms into the Cleave.
“A party of three were located, one with a lower leg injury.

“They were unable to stand without pain and so the casualty’s leg was splinted before being stretchered off to an ambulance at Lane End.
“It was a challenging route off and took almost two hours, with the casualty handed over to paramedics at 8:50pm.
“We wish the casualty a speedy recovery.”
