A woman survived a terrifying 30-foot fall after her mobility scooter did a full “backwards somersault” down a steep drop.
A group of friends were out on a trail ride when a brake failure caused one of the scooters to roll backwards off the road.
The woman was sent tumbling down a 30-foot drop before being flung off her machine.
She then became trapped when the scooter landed on top of her.
The bizarre accident happened at Latrigg in the Lake District on Sunday (24 August).
Emergency services, including Cumbria Police, North West Ambulance Service, and Keswick Mountain Rescue, rushed to the scene, as reported by Need To Know.

A spokesperson for Keswick Mountain Rescue said: “After a backwards somersault and being flipped off the scooter, the woman came to rest about 10m down the slope, trapped underneath the hefty machine.
“Miraculously, she was unharmed as she was fortunate enough to end up in the footwell area between the seat and handlebars.
“The police were first on scene and managed to move the scooter off the woman.
“Keswick MRT assistance was requested to extricate the woman to an awaiting ambulance.

“She was checked over by the paramedics and subsequently discharged.
“The Keswick team then went on to retrieve the scooter.”
Fourteen team members from the mountain rescue attended the dramatic scene, with the rescue taking just under two hours.
Miraculously, the woman walked away unharmed.
