A father and daughter were killed when their small plane crashed into a canal yesterday (10 November) morning, authorities have confirmed.
The aircraft, bound for Jamaica on a hurricane relief mission, went down at around 10:19 am (local time) just five minutes after taking off.
Both occupants – Alexander Wurm, 53, and his 22-year-old daughter Serena Wurm – were found dead at the scene.

Miraculously, no one on the ground was injured, as reported by Need To Know.
Alexander, who founded Ignite the Fire Ministry, was on a mission to deliver hurricane relief supplies to communities in Jamaica.

In a statement Monday night, the ministry remembered Alexander as “a man of warmth and unwavering kindness who devoted his life to serving others”.
The statement continued: “Throughout his life, Alex travelled extensively, reaching various countries and continents, where he tirelessly worked to bring faith, compassion, and support to those in need.
“His legacy of faith and compassion touched countless lives.”
Serena, following in her father’s footsteps, was described as “a beacon of empathy and hope”.

The statement read: “Together, their final journey embodied selflessness and courage, reminding us of the power of service and love.”
Alexander and Serena are survived by Candace Wurm, wife and mother, and two children, James, 17, and Christiana, 20.
The plane, which took off from Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport, came to rest partially submerged in a residential waterway in the Windsor Bay community of Coral Springs, Florida, after clipping several trees.
The City of Coral Springs Police confirmed they are working closely with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), and Broward Sheriff’s Office (BSO) to determine the cause of the crash.
