A cruel inmate who daubed a swastika on a seagull’s head has been disciplined by prison bosses.
The bird, named Belinda, also had some of her feathers pulled out.
The Lesser Black Backed Gull will never recover enough to be released back into the wild.

The sickening attack happened at HMP Isle of Wight in Newport on the island in June.
The prisoner has now been moved and is subject to “enhanced security.”
Cops had launched an investigation, but there was not enough evidence for a criminal prosecution.
A Prison Service spokesperson said: “This was a senseless attack on a defenceless animal.
“And following an investigation, a prisoner has been moved and is now subject to enhanced security.”
Belinda is now being cared for by Skippers Sanctuary – a local charity which looks after wild birds, as reported on Need To Know.

Her feathers won’t grow back properly because the follicles were damaged when they were ripped out.
This means she cannot fly and fend for herself in the wild.
Belinda has developed Bumblefoot – a bacterial infection of birds’ feet – a direct result of the attack.
A Skippers Sanctuary spokesperson said: “Obviously, it’s great they are sending the message that this behaviour won’t be tolerated.
“And even though the police couldn’t prosecute, thank you to the prison service for taking action.”
HMP Isle of Wight is a Category B jail with over 1,000 inmates, many of whom are sex offenders.
East End gangsters The Krays, Yorkshire Ripper Peter Sutcliffe and disgraced pop star, Garry Glitter, previously served time there.
