Luckily, he wasn’t seriously hurt and managed to climb out himself.
It happened at St Kernersville, North Carolina.
He shared a clip of the fall online and it racked up nearly 64,000 likes.
Some viewers felt it looked line the start of a horror film.
“I was walking around a car, assessing the situation to recover it from the ditch where it was at,” Diego 32, told Need To Know.
“I thought I saw a piece of concrete.
“I was going move it out of the way but it was actually the hole.
“It was like a drainage system, ten-feet deep.
“I went right in and fell on my feet.
“I lost my breath, my blood pressure went down and I got dizzy.
“The vehicle owner and a person who was driving by helped me up after about five minutes.
“I thank God that he kept me safe and unharmed.
“And thanks to the vehicle owners and the guy driving by for helping me.

“People think that being a tow truck operator is an easy job, but it’s not.
“It’s really dangerous.
“We don’t see it as a job, we see it as a lifestyle.”
Some viewers were puzzled by the hole.
Caleb said: “Is that a manhole or what?

“Like why is there no cover on that?”
Another said: “Was that a manhole cover?
“Because I’ve had nightmares about falling into one of them, or a storm drain since I was a little kid.
“I would’ve been none too pleased.”
While another said: “This is how horror movies start.”
