The elderly driver lost control of his Mercedes and mounted the pavement.
Footage showed the SUV ramming several bystanders before it was heard crashing.
Nearby street vendors offered assistance to the injured at the scene.
The accident took place on Lam Hing Street in Hong Kong, China, yesterday (16 Mar).
According to local reports, nine people were injured including eight pedestrians.
The driver’s wife, 70, suffered head and chest injuries in the accident.
The driver, surnamed Lin, was placed under arrest and provisionally charged with dangerous driving causing grievous bodily harm.

The offence is punishable by up to seven years in prison and a maximum fine of around £4,790 (HKD 50,000).
The police said he apparently mixed up the pedals and stepped on the gas instead of braking while attempting to make a U-turn.
They added that the couple was not wearing their seatbelts at the time, as reported by Need To Know.
The driver is scheduled to appear at Kwun Tong Magistrates’ Courts on 25 March.
