Shroff, 36, escaped with minor injuries to his hands caused by gunpowder and flying glass, according to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.
Shinde visited the actor at his home shortly after the incident and said both he and his mum, Ayesha, had been left shaken.

Speaking to local media, Ayesha gave a thumbs-up when asked how her son was doing, replying: “God is great.”
Police have since detained three suspects in Kota, Rajasthan, after launching a major manhunt involving 15 teams.
The men, reportedly aged 17, 18 and 22, were allegedly caught aboard a train earlier today (19 October).
Investigators are examining CCTV footage and a motorbike believed to have been used in the getaway.
The attackers allegedly abandoned the bike outside a police post before fleeing on foot and catching a train.

A social media post claiming to be from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the attack, but police have yet to verify its authenticity.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang is an Indian organised crime group linked to murder, extortion and targeted attacks on celebrities and other high-profile figures.
No motive has been officially established, as reported by Need To Know.
Shinde vowed to take action against those responsible, declaring: “These attempts to intimidate people will not be tolerated, and we will put an end to this hooliganism.”
The shooting comes amid a series of attacks targeting prominent Indian figures, including gunfire outside the homes of Bollywood star Salman Khan and filmmaker Rohit Shetty.
Tiger, whose real name is Jai Hemant Shroff, is the son of veteran Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff and film producer Ayesha Shroff.
He made his acting debut in the 2014 romantic action film Heropanti and went on to become known for his martial arts skills and high-energy stunts.
He has since starred in the Baaghi action film franchise and the blockbuster War, alongside Hrithik Roshan. Away from acting, he is a keen football fan and regularly plays the sport.
