A woman has told how her heroic dog saved her life by attacking her armed ex-fiancé as he opened fire on her.
Lauren Wiggins, 27, was packing her belongings to leave the home she shared with her former partner when he allegedly grabbed a gun and started shooting, as reported by Need To Know.
But her Cane Corso, Judah, immediately launched himself at the man, biting a chunk out of his face before being shot in the head and shoulder.

Lauren, from Seattle, Washington, feared her beloved pet had been killed in the terrifying attack on November 19, 2024.
She said: “Judah immediately attacked him, taking a chunk out of his face and was shot in the head and shoulder doing so.

“I thought he had died.”
Lauren, who was 25 at the time, had been packing her basic belongings when her ex-fiancé walked into their bedroom.
She said he went to a dresser drawer, took out his gun and began firing.
Judah threw himself into the attack, giving Lauren a chance to survive the shooting.
The student was taken to hospital, and only discovered her dog had survived a day or so later.
Despite being shot twice, the brave dog made a strong recovery.
Lauren said she was overwhelmed with guilt that Judah had risked his life to protect her.
She had got him when she was 19, hoping that if she ever needed protection, he would be there for her.
She said: “I just never thought the day would actually come.
“I’m grateful that we both survived and our journey together didn’t end that night.”
Lauren’s ex-fiancé was arrested and later pleaded guilty to a lesser charge. He was released on probation in July 2026.
