A “new Nostradamus” has predicted that today will mark the end of the world as we know it – but an expert doomsday prepper says otherwise.

Kushal Kumar, who claims to be an astrologer, has used a chart based on Hindu culture to look toward the next catastrophic event – World War III – which he says is due to start on 18 June, in an exclusive with the Daily Star.

While Brits and others around the globe may be panicking about how to live out their last few hours on earth, a well-known doomsday prepper, Rowan MacKenzie, 39, has said there’s no need to fear.

“Nostradamus has been right about a lot of things but as a prepper, I don’t feel like this is the end just yet,” she told Need To Know.

“I believe this world will see a lot more war and famine before the end comes.

“Biblically speaking, the story hasn’t played out yet.

“Do I think we all need to be prepared for the crumble of the world [though]? Absolutely, I do.”

Rowan, from the US, began stocking up her cupboards 13 years ago.

She initially bought long-life essentials, such as beans and rice, which she taught herself to preserve through trial and error.

The homemaker has spent close to $200,000 (USD) (£157,000) on her stock, as well as a hidden underground bunker that has been built into her basement.

And while Rowan doesn’t think the end is nigh, she believes it’s important for everyone to prepare for the worst.

She added: “Just look around, the entire world is at war.

“In one way or another, things are about to get real for a lot of people.

“Keep an eye on power grids, those will be the main targets – prepare for [them to] go down.

“Food, water and medical supplies [are a must] as you will need them.

“Our stock should last us a year or more [once used and not replenished].

“I’ve always said that if you didn’t help build it, then hard decisions will have to be made.

“My door won’t be open to anyone, family or not, as I’ve prepared for my own home.

“I feel bad, but hard times call for hard knocks – and a harsh reality.”
