A robotic baby pterodactyl worth £84,000 has been stolen from a Jurassic World show.

The mechanical dinosaur is described by the organisers as a “unique piece.”

The exhibit, the only pterodactyl in the collection, is valued at around £84,000 (MXN 2 million).

It was pinched just five days later.

The show, which has already toured cities such as London and Madrid, will remain in Mexico City until September, as reported on Need To Know.

The theft of the baby pterodactyl and “other objects” was immediately reported to the authorities.

The Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City said in a statement on 24 July: “We have opened an investigation into the robbery of objects that was reported to us yesterday.

“According to the investigations, the complainant opened a dinosaur-themed exhibition at the said __cpLocation and later stored the representative pieces there.

“However, the next day they realised that one of the exhibits was missing so they proceeded to report the incident.”

The investigation into the alleged theft is ongoing.

Jurassic World: The Exhibition features a variety of different dinosaur species, from the iconic Tyrannosaurus Rex to the Triceratops.

As well as paying tribute to the Jurassic World franchise, the show also includes elements from the original Jurassic Park series.
