Shoppers rave over £799 mattress that is apparently saving sex lives… but is it ACTUALLY any good?

Shoppers are raving over a mattress that is reportedly saving their relationships and sex lives.

One customer, named Paul, says his picky partner would refuse to stay over at his house due to his lumpy, bumpy sleeping arrangement.

But it seems a new bed did the trick and the pair are still together (as far we know, anyway).

“I’m pleased to report that all is well in the bedroom department now and we’re both enjoying a comfy night’s kip,” he said.

Another customer, called Keith, gave it a “massive thumbs up” while shopper Julia said it has finally stopped her husband from snoring.

The mattress in question is the Simba Hybrid®, which ranges in price from £499-£1,899 depending on which size you order.

But is it really all that? Only one way to find out.

I tried the mattress for myself to discover if it could help resolve a relationship problem of my own.

My boyfriend sleeps like a log, while I often suffer with insomnia from time to time. He snores, gives off heat like a radiator turned up to max and just won’t stop creeping onto my side of the bed.

As of late, to preserve my sanity, I’ve been forced to sleep in the guest room that we are lucky to have.

My previous mattress was an expensive memory foam model that eventually stopped ‘bouncing back’ and developed a bizarre hole in the middle – which I am assuming can only be attributed to the fact I slept solo in that spot for a few years.

So I’ll admit that I didn’t have very high hopes that Simba’s Hybrid would solve my sleep problems.

I’m very happy to report that I was wrong.

It took a few nights to break it in (sleeping-wise – get your mind out of the gutter) but it’s now been a week and I have only slept in the guest room once.

Although my boyfriend still snores, I have more space to myself, which was my most crucial issue, and my back no longer aches when I wake up, because there’s no divet in the middle.

Simba also includes complimentary pillows with some of the models, which we also tried.

It was a bit too bouncy for my head but it’s perfect as a hugging pillow or to gently smack my partner with when he snores a bit too loudly.

I’m joking… maybe.

We don’t really have any big issues (knock on wood) so I can’t save that this mattress has saved our relationship as such – but it’s allowed us more time in a bed together, which is a big plus.

We might still sleep in separate bedrooms from time to time but he’ll have to go into the guest room on the old mattress now.

The Simba is all mine.

WHAT THE EXPERT SAYS: WHY SLEEP DIVORCES CAN BE A BAD IDEA

Lisa Artis, the deputy CEO of Simba’s charity partner, The Sleep Charity, told Need To Know:

“Sleeping separately might be a solution for individual sleep issues, but there are benefits to sleeping in the same bed as your partner.

“Firstly, sharing a bed can enhance emotional bonding and intimacy.

“Plus co-sleeping may help lower stress levels and boost the immune system.

“Secondly, those couples who do sleep in the same bed also tend to resolve their conflicts better.

“And going to bed on an argument isn’t conducive to a good night’s sleep.

“Lastly, while for some people separately improves their sleep, there is research to show that sharing a bed can also enhance sleep due to the security and comfort a partner’s presence can bring.”
