A sacked factory worker allegedly shot a Brit dead and injured at least two more after entering his former workplace with an AK-47.

Horror footage shows how the masked man enters the factory with his gun raised and approaches three workers as they chat.

They only notice him at the last minute and have no time to flee as he shoots one of them from close range.

The wounded man falls onto his back on the factory floor as his shocked colleagues begin running away.

The wounded man crawls behind a corner in a desperate bid to save himself.

But the gunman, who is wearing a hi-viz top, chases him and shoots him again as he collapses in a doorway.

The gunman then ventures further into the workplace as another worker is seen sprinting out the open door to save himself.

The horror unfolded on Monday (30 Sept) morning in the Aqaba Special Economic Zone in the port city of Aqaba, Jordan.

One individual died and at least two more were injured, according to local reports.

The deceased is said to be a 60-year-old British national who worked within the company.

The Jordanian authorities are reportedly in contact with his next of kin, as reported by Need To Know.

The injured are a Serbian, who is in critical condition, and a Jordanian.

All three were rushed to hospital, but the British man was pronounced dead on arrival.

Some reports say a second Jordanian was also injured and was also taken to hospital.

The Jordanian authorities said on Tuesday (1 Oct) that the suspect had been arrested after a 24-hour-long manhunt.

The man, from Karak Governorate, allegedly carried out the attack because he was disgruntled at having been sacked a few weeks earlier.

Police spokesperson Amer Sartawi said he had “started firing randomly at his colleagues”.

No names had been released at the time of reporting.

The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office has been approached for comment.
